Solution Specialist – Exalogic

Brief Description

Exalogic Sales

The individual will be responsible in meeting Exalogic related business targets for his/her assigned territory. This individual will be working closely with the OFM and Systems Sales team in creating, developing, strategizing, progressing sales stages and in many instances even closing Exalogic related deals. A strong sales acumen is therefore required


Exalogic pipeline development

Pipeline development and growth will be an essential part of this role. The individual is required to ensure that a healthy qualified pipeline is being developed to meet revenue targets for in quarter forecast and longer term business. A high degree of business development skills is required. Its expected that constant and intense customer engagements will be part of this role.

Provide domain leadership in Exalogic solutioning and commercials.

This is a key part for the success of this role. The individual is expected to be looked upon as THE Exalogic domain expert in his country/region. A strong blend of technical product knowledge together with market knowledge is essential. Individual is also expected to provide knowledge to help sales team correctly configure and quote Exalogic hardware, software and services. These components are a must as they will help provide the business leadership that instrumental in driving the business forward.


Enabling partner community and internal Oracle teams

Together with Channel Sales and the A&C organization, this individual is expected to work closely in the partner community. He/she should provide Exalogic domain knowledge to the partners as well as work closely with the partners in opportunity creation, development and closure if required.


Core Skills

Competencies in sales/business development and associated processes

Sound knowledge of Major IT vendors product landscape (eg HP, IBM server offerings)

Past experience the in the following areas will certainly be useful : a) high performance computing environments, or b) high volume OLTP applications, or c) physical and logical IT consolidations, or d) large application named/concurrent users installed bases or e) private/public Cloud deployments

Understand of software markets especially in enterprise applications and middleware technologies

Industry solution knowledge (eg Financial Sector, Media, Communication, and Public Sector) will be very helpful

Strong analytical skills and able to strategize sales approaches throughout sales cycle

Ability to work in teams is a must


Job Requirements

7+ experience in the IT industry with good track record in achieving tangible business results

Strong business acumen preferably with sales accomplishments and track record of growing new business

Technically competent (preferred in both hardware and software technologies) and able to embrace/learn new technologies quickly

Comfortable interacting at customer senior executive or C levels. Possession of these relationships will be an advantage.

Negotiate and close business

Team player and at the same time be able to work independently

Have sales process discipline, eg keep sales forecast with accuracy, keep a qualified and recent pipeline, reporting status of top deals and other sales related KPIs.

Able to lead virtual teams across several lines of biz (eg support, consulting, channels) with a solution mindset.

Able to work under pressure and under tight timelines.

Salary:Salary would be in 70/30 split
